Course Overview
This online digital project management course enables you to discover how digital technology can enhance and support project management in a modern business or commercial environment. In the digital era, you will explore how to lead a digital project with professionalism in a hybrid or fully remote working environment. Learners will understand the complete project lifecycle including the activity that happens at each stage and the technology used to support each phase, including an introduction to tools such as Monday, Trello and the Prince2 methodology. Learn about popular software applications used to manage stakeholder lists, communication and information sharing such as Jira, Microsoft Teams, G-Suite and ServiceNow. This Skills Bootcamp in digital project management will also cover traditional project management topics such as budgeting, cost control, quality control and risk management with a focus on their respective digital solutions.
Applicants must reside in the South Yorkshire area (Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham or Sheffield).

Complete pre-enrolment formWithin this course, learners will complete four units.
The four units are:
- Digital Project Governance, Leadership and Professionalism
- Stakeholder Management and communication
- Project Management and Control (Budgeting, Cost Control and Risk Management)
- Project Contexts in different environments (Business and Commercial)
Within this unit, learners will look to understand project governance paradigms and models and how they interact with technology, outline how to govern a project and programme-based organisation and explain the project life cycle and how technology interacts with each stage. Learners will also understand how to demonstrate the principles of team leadership, specifically covering leadership in remote and hybrid working.
Upon completion of this unit, learners will be able to define communication in project management and tools that can help with this. Learners will also outline strategic leadership and best practices in stakeholder management, including software or applications used to manage stakeholder lists (including Jira, Trello, Service Now.) Learners will also be able to identify communication requirements for building an effective project and explain the digital methods that can be used to identify stakeholders and establish th correct form of communication with each stakeholder.
Within this unit, learners will define how you would identify risks, threats and opportunities and understand how to present these back to stakeholders virtually. Learners will study cost management (including cost estimating, budgeting and cost control) and understand simple and complex tools and software that can be used to manage costs and manage quality.
In this unit, learners will understand how tech/the digitalisation processes enhance the planning or projects in commercial and business environments. Learners will also look into the role of projects and project management as a care business activity, how activities may differ based on how "tech savvy" an organisation may be and how to monitor and manage a vendor remotely. Finally, learners will understand documents, resources and deliverables that need to be produced at each stage in the process and the role technology has to play.
Skills Bootcamps are for:
- Adults aged 19 or over as of the 31st August 2024
- Adults who are employed and have their employer's co-funding support to progress within the company
- Applicants must reside in the South Yorkshire area (Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham or Sheffield).
- Learners who are not currently undertaking any formal education, including another Skills Bootcamp
- Learners who have not studied a Skills Bootcamp in the current funding year
- Learners who have a reliable internet connection, a laptop or computer with a camera and microphone and access to Microsoft Office
- Adults who are able to commit to and attend 100% of live sessions as per the course requirements they are choosing to enrol on
Please note, although our Skills Bootcamps are completed entirely online, due to the way Skills Bootcamps are funded, you can only complete a course that is available in the area that you currently reside in.
Following course completion, including attendance at all mandatory live learning sessions and achievement of all course assessments, those seeking a new job role will be suitable to secure a guaranteed job interview and apply for entry-level vacancies. Skills Bootcamps are fully funded (that means free) for…
- Unemployed people (for less than 12 months)
- Employed people looking for a career change*
- Self-employed people who are looking to grow their business
- Employers recruiting an individual who has completed a Skills Bootcamp
*Large employers looking to upskill their current staff will contribute 30% of the cost for their staff members' upskilling. *Small or medium employers (SMEs) will contribute 10% for their staff members upskilling.

You must complete 5 hours of mandatory live learning each week:
In addition, you must complete 1 hour of pre-learning and up to 7.5 hours dedicated to assessment, employment preparation and career journalling.
Once you are verified as being eligible for the Skills Bootcamp, you can choose from the below range of days and times to attend your live learning sessions:
Daytime & Weekend sessions:
Tuesday & Saturday 9am – 2pm
Please note: You cannot swap between weekdays and weekends.
Evening sessions:
Tuesday & Wednesday 7pm – 9pm
Thursday 7pm – 8pm
*Please note your chosen day and time will occur every week for the full 12-week programme
Because our Skills Bootcamps are of Level 3 standard in England, you will be expected to have some existing knowledge and skills within the subject area or job role that you are applying for.
You must also have:
- A familiarity with applied use of Microsoft Office Suite of programmes
- Basic functional skills ability including Maths and English
All Project Management - Digital Transformation Skills Bootcamps learners will have the opportunity to receive additional certification in Google- Manage a Project with Digital Tools
